Lucas Möller is a highly regarded energy technology expert who has worked across the power industry to commercialize, execute, and operate various power projects – including solar and battery storage, coal and gas generation, and gas and electric transmission. In his prior experience developing an energy storage platform he oversaw a pipeline of more than 4 GW of energy storage projects and the execution of more than 745 MW / 2,900 MWh now in operation and commercialized some of the first utility-scale solar plus storage projects. As COO of Nightpeak Energy, Lucas meets strategy with plans of action to support growth.
Prior to founding Nightpeak Energy, Lucas served as Head of Energy Storage at Recurrent Energy, a leading North American utility-scale solar and energy storage project developer. In this role, Lucas was responsible for creating Recurrent Energy and Canadian Solar’s business case for energy storage in the US and abroad and growing the project pipeline. While at Recurrent, Lucas created market strategies based on deep technical knowledge and brought projects to fruition by managing procurement, PPA negotiation, and revenue forecasts.
Prior to joining Recurrent, Lucas served as Director of Consulting Services for PowerAdvocate, a supply chain and management consulting business focused on the energy industry. In this role, Lucas worked with energy utilities and developers on projects across the spectrum of power industry technologies, operations, and capital projects. Lucas has an eclectic background from his early career experiences which also include environmental engineering, Mars planetary science, and climate policy research.
Lucas holds a Bachelor of Science in Earth Systems – Energy Science & Technology from Stanford University.
