With a robust legal career spanning over two and a half decades, Sujay Parikh stands as a seasoned executive in the realm of energy and infrastructure. His expertise has been pivotal in steering innovative projects across a spectrum of renewable and alternative energy sectors, including solar, wind, energy storage, geothermal, renewable natural gas, and circular plastics.
Before his tenure at Nightpeak Energy, Sujay was instrumental in the development and acquisition of expansive portfolios of organic projects and existing project pipelines. His acumen in legal structuring has facilitated the mobilization of billions in equity, structured finance, and project finance debt capital, earning him recognition as a vanguard in the legal domain.
At Brightmark, LLC, Sujay was an SVP and General Counsel, guiding the company from its nascent stages to a leading company in the RNG and waste plastics circular conversion markets. His leadership was key in the fruition of over 40 completed or near completion projects, with a capital deployment exceeding $750 million.
His previous role as VP & Head of Legal, Global Project and Structured Finance at SunEdison, saw him leading a global team of lawyers in capital raising, mergers and acquisitions, and project development. Sujay’s legal journey commenced at Milbank Tweed Hadley & McCloy, where, as a senior associate, he represented sponsors and financing parties in the development and financing of groundbreaking renewable energy and traditional gas projects.
Sujay’s academic credentials include a Juris Doctorate from Georgetown University Law School and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the New York Bar Association.
